School Psychology Services
The School Psychology Service provides a specialist psychological consultation service to school. School Psychologists work within the Student Services Team to ensure student well-being is maximised. All School Psychologists hold registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and are governed by a code of ethics.
The School Psychology Service provides support in three main areas.
1. Mental Health
Provides direct support for students experiencing mental health and well-being difficulties.
Provides consultation to staff and parents to maximise student well-being
Provides information for external agency referrals for support.
Assists the school and children to maximise development of positive mental health and well-being
2. Learning
Provides consultation to staff and parents regarding evidence-based learning interventions to support students experiencing learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
Where appropriate, conducts assessments of students experiencing learning difficulties to determine the most appropriate interventions for individual needs.
3. Behaviour
Works alongside staff and parents to identify and change target behaviours at an individual, group and systematic level.
School Psychology Service referrals are made through the Student Services Team and require formal parent consent prior to involvement occurring. If you have concerns regarding your child’s mental health, learning or behaviours, please consult with your child’s Student Services Coordinator.
