HaSS

Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) is the study of how people live, interact, and shape the world—past, present, and future. It explores human behaviour in social, cultural, environmental, economic, and political contexts, helping students understand the complexities of local and global issues.
At Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School, HASS encourages students to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, examine evidence, and communicate ideas clearly. Through engaging, real-world learning, students learn to make informed decisions and propose meaningful actions.
The HASS learning area includes four key subjects: History, Geography, Economics and Business, and Civics and Citizenship. Together, these subjects help students build the knowledge and skills needed to become active, informed, and responsible citizens in the 21st century.
