The Arts

Curriculum
At KBCHS, we are passionate about The Arts. Students from Years 7 to 10 can explore their creativity through Visual Arts, Media, Music, Dance, and Drama. Additional options include Photography in Years 7 and 8, and a dedicated Ceramics class in Year 8.
In the senior years, students have the opportunity to complete nationally recognised certificate courses:
Year 10 Visual Arts and Media students can complete a Certificate I.
Music students in Years 9 and 10 can complete a Certificate II in Music Industry across two years.
Special Events
Students can showcase their talents and get involved in a range of arts-based activities throughout the year:
Whole School Assemblies – Regular performances featuring music, dance, and drama.
Choir & Ukulele Orchestra – Open to students from all year groups.
Country Week & YOH Fest – Opportunities for students to perform and compete at regional and state levels.
Arts in School – Lunchtime arts competitions run by our student Arts Faction Captains, contributing to Faction Points.
Arts Night – A celebration of our Performing Arts students, held in Term 3, Week 9. The night features performances and award presentations recognising outstanding leadership and talent.
Arts Gallery & Media Exhibition – A public exhibition of student artwork and media projects, with refreshments prepared and served by Year 10 Foods and Arts students. Attendees vote for the People’s Choice Awards.
School Production – Year 9 and 10 Drama students write, direct, and perform an original play over three nights, taking full responsibility for both on-stage and backstage roles.
