At KBCHS, all students in Years 7 and 8 study Mandarin Chinese as part of the Western Australian Curriculum. Through engaging lessons, students build foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while also learning about Chinese culture, festivals, and daily life.

Chinese may also be offered as an elective in Years 9 and 10, depending on student interest and class availability. Studying an additional language supports cognitive development, intercultural understanding, and broadens future opportunities in education, travel, and employment.
