Modern Learning Facilities

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (KBCHS) features spacious, well-equipped classrooms and cutting-edge facilities designed to support student success. In 2025, we opened a brand-new STEM Lab—purpose-built to foster innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning.

This dual-classroom space includes a retractable dividing wall that opens into a large collaborative area, making it ideal for group projects and interactive teaching. Designed with observation in mind, the lab allows for flexibility and visibility across both rooms. Students have access to industry-standard tools, including four 3D printers, a roller sticker printer, a laser cutter, and safety features such as extraction fans—bringing real-world design and technology experiences into the classroom.

Library and Research Hub

The KBCHS library is a vibrant, flexible space that supports both learning and wellbeing. Stocked with a wide range of books, digital resources, and study materials, it’s a space where students can focus, collaborate, or explore new interests. With dedicated quiet zones, group work areas, and expert support from our friendly library staff, students are encouraged to develop strong research skills and a lifelong love of reading.

Canteen and Student Dining

Our canteen is proudly operated by the locally loved Mac’s Deli, known across Kalgoorlie for its delicious food and friendly service. With a fresh and ever-changing menu, students enjoy nutritious, affordable options including hot lunches, wraps, snacks, and drinks—all made with quality ingredients. Open before school and during recess and lunch, the canteen provides a welcoming, social space where students can relax and refuel.

Sports and Recreation Facilities

Physical activity is a key part of life at KBCHS. Our facilities include a large gymnasium, extensive playing fields, and multiple outdoor courts—including a shaded court to support all-weather use. Whether it’s PE classes, team sports, lunchtime fitness sessions, or interschool competitions, students have ample opportunities to stay active and engaged.

Student Services and Wellbeing Support

At KBCHS, we place student wellbeing at the centre of our school culture. Our Student Services team includes a school nurse, psychologist, chaplain, and pastoral care staff who provide support across academic, social, emotional, and health areas.

The on-site School Health Centre is a safe space where students can access advice, support, and referrals when needed. Homework clubs, one-on-one support, and a strong pastoral care approach ensure students feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed—both in and out of the classroom.
