NAPLAN
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for all Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. In 2026, NAPLAN will take place in March, with all assessments completed online.
NAPLAN measures essential literacy and numeracy skills that are important for every student’s success in school and in life beyond the classroom. It is not a pass-or-fail test, but rather a tool to help teachers, parents and schools identify strengths and areas for improvement.
At KBCHS, NAPLAN is an important part of our teaching and learning cycle. The results help us tailor classroom programs and provide targeted support to ensure all students have the skills they need to progress through school with confidence.
In 2026, our Year 7 and Year 9 students will complete tests in:
Reading
Writing
Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
Numeracy
We encourage students to approach NAPLAN with a positive mindset and to try their best. Families can support their child by ensuring they attend school every day during the testing window, get enough sleep, eat well and arrive on time.
