Factions


At Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School, every student belongs to one of our four factions. Factions are a big part of our school spirit and identity, especially during our sports carnivals and community events.


  • Marlu (A–D) – Red

  • Yilpa (E–K) – Yellow

  • Tjilkamarta (L–R) – Blue

  • Karlaya (S–Z) – Green


Throughout the year, students come together in their faction colours to compete, celebrate, and show their pride. Sports Carnivals are a highlight, where the oval fills with colour, energy, and friendly rivalry.

We also celebrate Faction Fridays each week, when students wear their faction shirts to school.
